Wedding films in Haywards Heath.
We are one in-house team for photos and film. Hayden films your Haywards Heath day while Aaron shoots stills alongside, so the vows in a mansion gallery or a great garden, the speeches and the whole sound of the day come home with you, not just the pictures.
A film records the sound too.
A photograph among the gardens is a lovely thing to have on the wall. It cannot give you back the sound. It will not have the sound of the vows, the laughter in the room during the best man’s speech, or the birdsong and the quiet of a great garden before the rings. A film records all of that. That is the whole reason to book one, because the sound of the day comes home with you as well as the pictures.
We are Robinson Martin Green, based at Mudberry Lane near Chichester, and Haywards Heath sits about 30 miles north-east across Sussex, well inside the area we cover. The films are led by Hayden Martin-Green, who shoots and cuts them, with Aaron Robinson on stills working the same day beside him. We should be straight with you from the start. We cover Haywards Heath but we have not filmed a wedding in the town itself yet, so we will not invent a Haywards Heath couple to fill this page. What we do have are full wedding films from days elsewhere in Sussex, made by the two people who would come and film yours.
Haywards Heath films as garden country. This is the High Weald, and the town is ringed by some of the finest gardens in the country, Wakehurst and Borde Hill among them, where the planting itself gives a film colour and depth that changes right through the year, bluebells and rhododendrons in spring, deep green in summer, fire in autumn. A mansion estate gives you grand rooms for the vows and acres of garden for the movement. Sound still needs planning, because a garden is open and a panelled room can ring, so we mic the ceremony properly either way. Handled right, the garden and the old house sit in the film as atmosphere under the words.
Why we would say book the film.
Most couples plan the photographs first and leave the film as the thing they might add later. Then the day passes in a blur, the speeches happen once, the first dance happens once, and there is no way to go back and record any of it again. Stills freeze how it looked. Only a film gives you the movement and the sound, so you hear the speeches, the vows and the room again. It is the one part of the day you cannot make again afterwards, so it is worth deciding on early.
The parts of the day we film.
A Haywards Heath wedding film has several looks in it, and a garden-estate day gives you all of them. In the morning we film the getting ready, the details and the walk out into the grounds. The middle of the day is the vows, in a mansion gallery or out among the planting, the part where we work hardest on the sound. Then the evening comes, and the gardens earn the film. As the light drops low through the trees and lies gold across the lawns, a couple walking a garden path gives you some of the best evening footage of the day.
The reception films differently again. First dances, speeches and the noise of a full room need the sound as much as the picture, so we keep recording the room while we film it, and the finished piece carries the laugh through the best man’s speech and the first bars of your first dance as they actually sounded, not a track dropped over the top.

How your Haywards Heath day gets filmed.
Because Hayden films while Aaron photographs, there is one team, one plan and one point of contact rather than two suppliers meeting for the first time at your ceremony. That matters more on film than it does on stills. A videographer who has never met your photographer ends up in half their shots and competing for the aisle during the vows, and you are the one caught in the middle asking two strangers to sort it out. We have already agreed who stands where before you walk in, so the camera can hold on you without a second shooter drifting into frame.
Hayden films the ceremony on 2 cameras, one held on the couple and one wider on the room, so a missed reaction on one angle is caught on the other and the vows are never lost to a blocked shot. For an exclusive-use estate like Wakehurst we walk it first, so the first time we film there is not on your actual day, and we work out in advance where the cameras sit without blocking your guests, where the sound is cleanest indoors and out, where the light falls through the trees at your ceremony hour, and where a drone can fly within the garden’s rules. Nothing gets staged twice for the two cameras. You are filmed and photographed at the same time, then handed back to your guests.
How the Haywards Heath venues look and sound on film.
Real venues in and around the town, each seen the way a filmmaker reads a room: where the movement is, where the light lands through the planting, and where a voice carries. We walk any of them ahead of your day so the first time we film there is not on the day itself.
Haywards Heath and the High Weald, on film
- Wakehurst near Ardingly, Kew’s wild botanic garden with an Elizabethan mansion whose Gallery is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to around 120 and taken on an exclusive-use basis. The panelled rooms hold the vows close on the recording, and hundreds of acres of botanic garden give the film movement and colour nothing else can.
- Borde Hill Garden, the world-renowned garden on the edge of the town, where formal rooms of planting and parkland views give a film a series of very different backdrops in one place.
- Haywards Heath Town Hall and its licensed Jubilee Room, an intimate, contained option for a smaller ceremony that records clean and simple.
- The wider High Weald around the town, its woodland, the reservoir at Ardingly and the old Sussex lanes. This is the country the drone and the golden-hour walk are built for, giving the film the gardens and the Weald a single room cannot.
How the film is delivered.
The edit is where a wedding film is actually made, and it is worth knowing what happens after the day. We work through the footage and the recorded sound, choose the moments, and cut your wedding film, typically within 8 to 10 weeks. It lands in your private Wedding Hub, the same place your photographs are delivered, so the film and the gallery sit together in one spot. Couples on Silver or Gold get a short teaser before that, so there is something to share early. Because both your film and your photographs come from us, there is one delivery, one login, and one team to talk to if you want a change.

Questions from Haywards Heath couples booking a film.
Our ceremony is in a mansion gallery or out in the gardens. Will the vows and speeches sound right on the film?
Both are fine on film for opposite reasons, and both come down to micing properly rather than trusting the camera. A panelled mansion room like the Gallery at Wakehurst holds a voice close but can be a touch live, so we mic close and let the room sit under the vows. A garden ceremony is open, so a breeze through the trees can catch a word, and we shield the mics and put a radio mic on the groom and one on the officiant to keep the words clean. Either way the music goes under the recorded sound, never in place of it.
How long is the wedding film for a Haywards Heath day?
As long as the day needs. Every collection includes one edited wedding film, not a short version and a long one, and its length follows what happens on the day. Adam and Panha’s film, for example, runs 5 minutes 57. Silver and Gold add a short teaser to share early, plus the speeches recorded in full in the film. The teaser arrives first, and the film lands in your private Wedding Hub, usually within 8 to 10 weeks of the day.
Can we have drone footage over the gardens, or a short reel for social?
The gardens and the High Weald around Haywards Heath film beautifully from the air, but some of the great botanic gardens are protected and have their own rules, so we check what is permitted for your exact venue and date rather than promising a shot we cannot fly. Where it is allowed, the planting and the woodland give you a genuinely cinematic aerial; where it is not, we get the scale from the ground. We can also cut a short vertical teaser, around 60 seconds, for Instagram and TikTok, so you have something to share while the full film is still in the edit.
Can we book the film on its own, or does it have to come with photography?
Film can be booked on its own if you already have a photographer, and it works because we plan around whoever else is covering the day. Most couples book both with us so one in-house team runs the whole thing on one plan, which is the setup we would recommend for an exclusive-use estate, but the film does not depend on it.
