Brookfield Barn & Horsham

Wedding photography and film at Brookfield Barn.

A wedding photographer at Brookfield Barn who also shoots the film, working as one in-house team rather than two. Aaron and Hayden cover the barn, the lakeside and the country around Horsham, never two strangers competing for the same shot.

Late in the day at Brookfield Barn the light comes low across the lake and the whole ceremony space in front of the water turns soft and warm for a few minutes, and a photographer who knows the venue is watching for it rather than reacting to it. We are Robinson Martin Green, a two-person studio based in Chichester, and we cover weddings at Brookfield Barn near Horsham as one team that shoots both the photographs and the film.

The team is Aaron Robinson on stills and Hayden Martin-Green on film. We work as one unit on the day rather than two suppliers who met for the first time that morning. That matters more than it sounds. Brookfield runs the ceremony by the lake, the drinks on the terrace and the wedding breakfast up in the barn across spaces that all look out over the same water, so the day flows from one to the next and someone needs to stay with it. A photographer and a filmmaker who have not worked together end up in each other’s frames and competing for the same spot during the speeches. We have already agreed who stands where, so neither of us blocks the other and you are not the person trying to keep two strangers apart.

We should be straight with you about this. We have not yet photographed a wedding at Brookfield Barn. We cover the Horsham area and this is one of the venues we would love to shoot, but we would rather tell you that plainly than invent a Brookfield couple to fill the page. What we can show you is the full weddings we have shot and stand behind every frame of, a short drive from this venue, filmed and photographed by the same two people who would come to yours.

We photographed and filmed Adam and Panha at Fitzleroi Barn near Pulborough, a full-day Gold wedding from the morning preparations through to the evening, and Becky and Lucas at The Highdown, and Jack and Emelia at Wasing Park. The same two of us at each one.

These are the galleries and films we send couples who are weighing us up, because they show a complete day the way it actually ran, not a highlight reel. Brookfield is not among them yet, and we will say so, but the work a few miles away is exactly the work we would bring to a wedding by this lake. Adam and Panha’s was the full Gold package, the same two of us for the whole day and both the photographs and the film as one piece of work.

In the weeks before, we sent them a written list of the photographs and the film moments we planned to cover, so nothing important rested on memory. You can watch the full film and look through a whole gallery before you ever speak to us.

How we would cover a Brookfield day

One team for photo and film.

Most couples start out planning to hire a photographer and a separate videographer. The hidden cost of that is coordination, and it lands on you. Two suppliers means two timelines to chase, two sets of questions about when the speeches start, and two people who each want the couple to themselves for portraits. Booking the photographs and the film as one studio removes all of that. There is one timeline, one shot list, one point of contact, and one shared plan for how Aaron and Hayden move through your day.

In practice that means we run stills and film side by side without staging anything twice. We talk through the order of the day with you in advance, walk the venue beforehand where we can, and agree the moments that matter to you specifically rather than working off a template. Brookfield gives you a real choice of where to marry, outside at the lakeside ceremony space with the tree-fringed water behind you, or inside under the oak beams of the barn with its high vantage point over the grounds. We plan our positions around whichever you choose rather than turning up and hoping.

Because Brookfield Barn is an exclusive-use venue, you have the place and its 22 acres to yourselves for the day, with no other wedding being turned around behind you. That changes how the morning runs. There are two preparation spaces, the Lodge and the Lakeview suite, so you and your partner can get ready separately and privately, and with the barn seating up to 138 for the wedding breakfast the day never feels cramped. We can take our time over the detail shots and the quiet moments before the ceremony rather than working against a clock.

A few of the Brookfield settings we would plan around

    • The lakeside ceremony space, set against a tranquil tree-fringed lake, where couples say their vows outdoors with the water and the countryside behind them.
    • The Barn, a traditional oak-beamed space on a high vantage point, seating up to 138 for the wedding breakfast with views out over the lake and the grounds.
    • The Lounge and Bar with its south-facing terrace, where the drinks reception moves outside in summer and back to the warmth of the interior as the light goes.
    • The grounds, 22 acres of West Sussex countryside around the lake, for the portraits in the last hour of light before the evening starts.

    Before you book

    Common questions from Brookfield couples.

Have you photographed a wedding at Brookfield Barn before?

Not yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. We cover the Horsham area and Brookfield is a venue we would love to shoot, so we would be walking it ahead of your day the way we do with any venue we have not worked at. What we can show you instead is full weddings we have covered a short drive away, shot by the same two people who would come to yours, so you can judge the work rather than take our word for it.

We are marrying by the lake and moving up to the barn. Can you cover the whole flow?

Yes, and that is how a Brookfield day tends to run, because the lakeside ceremony space, the terrace and the barn all sit around the same water. We stay with you across all of it, so the lakeside vows, the drinks on the terrace and the evening up in the barn come back as one set rather than three disconnected halves.

If we only want the film and not the photographs, can you still do that?

Yes. Most couples take both because it is the same team and one booking, but you can have film only or photographs only. We will tell you honestly which makes sense for the kind of day you are planning rather than pushing the larger option.

How far in advance should we book a Brookfield summer Saturday?

Because the venue is exclusive-use and only takes one wedding at a time, popular dates from late spring through to early autumn tend to go 12 to 18 months out. Shorter notice does come up, so it is worth asking even if your date is only a few months away.
