Wedding photography and film in Uckfield.
Aaron photographs and Hayden films, and we plan the day together. We travel out to Uckfield and the country houses around it, never two strangers competing for the same shot.
Uckfield sits on the River Uck at the southern edge of the High Weald, with the Ashdown Forest a short run to the north and grand country houses like Buxted Park and Horsted Place a few minutes out of the town. It is proper wedding country, and the light across parkland and Gothic gardens rewards a photographer who has watched where it moves rather than one shooting it flat at midday. We are Robinson Martin Green, a two-person studio based at Mudberry Lane in Chichester, and we cover Uckfield weddings as one team that shoots both the photographs and the film.
The team is Aaron Robinson on stills and Hayden Martin-Green on film. We work as one unit on the day rather than two suppliers who met for the first time that morning. That matters more than it sounds. In a country house with tight rooms and a busy staircase, a photographer and a filmmaker who have not worked together end up in each other’s frames and fighting for the same angle during the vows. We have already agreed who stands where, so neither of us blocks the other and you are not the one trying to keep two strangers apart.
We should be straight about this. Uckfield is around forty miles east of our base, so it is a longer trip than a job on our doorstep, and we have not yet documented a wedding in the town itself. We would rather tell you that plainly than dress up a page with an Uckfield couple who does not exist. What we can show you is real work we have covered further west, and the same two people will be the ones who turn up for you.

Planned around the drive and the light.
A day out at Uckfield starts earlier for us than a local one, and that is by design. We build the drive from Chichester into the timings so we arrive with room to spare, do the getting-ready coverage without rushing, and are set for the ceremony well before your guests are seated. If we have not shot your venue before, and for Uckfield that will usually be the case, we visit ahead of the day and walk the ceremony room, the grounds and the portrait spots so the first time we photograph there is not on the morning it counts.
From there it is two of us reading the same room. One holds the wide moments while the other works close, so the confetti, the first look between you and the quiet bits in between all land without anyone being asked to do them twice. We keep it natural and relaxed, catching the day as it happens and staying out of its way, then step in for the posed portraits and family photos we have agreed with you in advance.
A few of the Uckfield settings we are set up for.
Real venues in and around the town, each with something specific to plan around. We visit any of them ahead of your day so the first time we shoot there is not on the day itself.
Uckfield and the Weald
- Buxted Park Hotel just north of the town, a Grade II listed Georgian mansion built in 1722 and set in 312 acres of parkland, with the Orangery licensed for ceremonies beside the pond.
- Horsted Place a couple of miles south, a Victorian Gothic country house hotel with 17 bedrooms, a sweeping staircase, romantic gardens and a history of royal guests, licensed for ceremonies up to around 130 guests.
- East Sussex National at Little Horsted on the edge of Uckfield, a golf and country estate with two championship courses, wide grounds and a larger modern space for couples planning a bigger celebration.
- The wider Wealden countryside around the town, from the River Uck through to the Ashdown Forest a short drive north, which gives you open heath and woodland backdrops you will not get in a town centre.
How booking with us works.
We check your date
Send us your date and your venue and we tell you straight away whether we are free. If we are, we talk through what you want the day to feel like and which parts matter most to you.
We plan and visit
We build the timings around the drive, agree the order of the day and, for a venue we have not worked at, we visit Uckfield ahead of time so we already know the space and the light.
You get your photos and film
Your photographs and film come back from one team, not as two separate sets from suppliers who never spoke. You get a gallery you can share and keep.
One studio for both, one plan for the day.
Most couples start out planning to hire a photographer and a separate videographer. The hidden cost of that is coordination, and it lands on you. Two suppliers means two timelines to chase, two sets of questions about when the speeches start, and two people who each want the couple to themselves for portraits. Booking the photographs and the film as one studio removes all of that. There is one timeline, one shot list, one point of contact and one shared plan for how Aaron and Hayden move through your day.
On the film side that means the vows, the speeches and the first dance are filmed properly rather than as an afterthought, and the sound is recorded with care so the words come back clear. Because we are one team, the film and the photographs follow the same plan instead of two versions that never quite line up.

Common questions from Uckfield couples.
Have you photographed a wedding in Uckfield before?
Not yet, and we will not pretend we have. Our real weddings so far sit closer to home, around Horsham, Pulborough and further west. Uckfield is a place we cover and travel to rather than one we can show you a finished day in. For any venue we have not worked at, we drive out and walk it before your date so we already know the ceremony room, where the light falls and the best spots for portraits before we arrive on the morning itself.
You are in Chichester. Is Uckfield too far for you to cover?
Not at all. Uckfield is roughly forty miles east of our base at Mudberry Lane, so it is a longer run than a local job but well within the ground we travel. We would build the drive into the timings so we are with you in good time rather than arriving flustered, and we would agree any travel on the quote upfront rather than adding it quietly later.
How do you handle the light at somewhere like Buxted Park or the Ashdown Forest edge?
That is the part we plan around. Parkland and Gothic country houses move from open sun to deep shade within a few steps, so we scout where the good light will be at your ceremony time and hold a little back for portraits when the sun drops. Two of us means one can be reading the light while the other stays on you, so nothing important rests on a single pair of hands.
How far ahead should we book an Uckfield summer date?
Popular dates from late spring through to early autumn tend to go 12 to 18 months out, and the country house venues around Uckfield fill first. Shorter notice does come up, so it is worth asking even if your date is only 3 or 4 months away and we will tell you straight whether we are free.
More to see before you decide.
We have not shot in Uckfield yet, so here are three genuine days we have covered further west. If you are weighing up nearby areas, the rest is one click away.
Send us your date and your venue.
One of us will reply to you personally, within 24 hours in almost every case, or call us on 07928 549702. We will tell you straight away whether we are free.
