Wasing Park · Berkshire

    Wedding films at Wasing Park.

One in-house team covers both the photos and the film. Hayden films your Wasing day while Aaron shoots stills alongside, from the church ceremony through to the Castle Barn, so the vows, the speeches and the sound of the estate come home with you, not just the pictures.

    What we have covered

We photographed Wasing but have not filmed it.

We have shot a real wedding at Wasing Park. Jack and Emelia married on the estate, exchanging vows inside the church and celebrating afterwards in the Castle Barn, and we covered their full day. We photographed it. We did not film it. So we will not pretend to hand you a Wasing wedding film that does not exist. It is an honest gap, and we would rather name it than dress it up.

What that means for you is this. We already know the estate, how the 15th-century church and the Castle Barn sit close together, and how a day moves across the grounds, because we have worked it. What we cannot yet show you is our own film from Wasing itself. So instead, further down this page, we show you a pair of full wedding films from days elsewhere in the county, cut with the recorded sound of the day as it happened. That is the look and the sound your Wasing film would have, made by the same two people who would come and film it.

The vows, with the sound recorded
Why a film, not just photographs

A film records the sound of the day.

A photograph of a church that has stood more than five hundred years is a lovely thing to keep. It cannot give you back the sound. It will not have the sound of the vows under that old roof, the laughter in the Castle Barn during the best man’s speech, or the first bars of the music as you walked back down the aisle. A film has all of that. On an estate laid out the way Wasing is, the sound changes as the day moves, close and echoing in the stone church, warmer and fuller in the timber of the barn, and a film is the only thing that carries both.

We are Robinson Martin Green, an in-house team of two based in West Sussex, and we cover Wasing Park as one unit that films and photographs the same day. Hayden Martin-Green shoots and cuts the film, with Aaron Robinson on stills beside him. Wasing is a fair drive from us and we say that plainly rather than pretend it is round the corner. An estate that hands a film a 15th-century church and a Grade II listed Castle Barn seating roughly 30 to 160 guests on the same private grounds is worth every mile of it.

A full day at Wasing on a bespoke package, the ceremony in the church and the reception in the barn. We covered it on photographs, not film, and this is the gallery, not a film we do not have.

    Jack & Emelia

Ceremony at St Nicholas · reception in the Castle Barn

Jack and Emelia are the reason we know Wasing rather than reading about it. We were on the estate for their full day, from the morning through to the evening, so we have stood where a film would stand, walked the ground between the church and the barn, and watched the light move across the grounds. That day was a photography booking, which is why what we can show you from Wasing is a gallery.

If you are booking a film for Wasing, this is the honest picture. We bring real knowledge of the estate from having worked it, and we bring finished films from elsewhere to show you how we cut a wedding. Yours would be the first we cover on film here, and we would treat it as exactly that.

    On the day

How your Wasing day would be filmed.

Because Hayden films while Aaron photographs, there is one team, one plan and one point of contact rather than two suppliers meeting for the first time at your ceremony. That matters more on film than it does on stills. A videographer who has never met your photographer ends up in half their shots and competing for the front of the church during the vows, and you are the one caught between two strangers. We agree who stands where before you walk in, so the camera can hold on you without a second shooter drifting into frame.

An estate the size of Wasing needs planning rather than working out on the day. Hayden films the ceremony on two cameras, one held on the couple and one wider on the church, so a missed reaction on one angle is caught on the other and the vows are never lost to a blocked shot. Then the film moves with you to the barn for the speeches and the first dance, where the sound of a full room matters as much as the picture. We already know the walk between the two from covering Jack and Emelia here, so we are not learning the ground on your morning. Nothing gets staged twice for the two cameras. You are filmed and photographed at the same time, then handed back to your guests.

    After the day

    When your film arrives.

The edit is where a film is actually made, and it is worth knowing what happens once the day is over. We work through the footage and the recorded sound, choose the moments, and cut your wedding film, usually within eight to ten weeks of a Wasing day. It lands in your private Wedding Hub, the same place your photographs are delivered, so the film and the gallery sit together rather than the film arriving on a memory stick that ends up in a drawer. On Silver and Gold a short teaser for Instagram or TikTok comes first. Because both your film and your photographs come from us, there is one delivery, one login, and one team to talk to if you want a change.

    Questions about film

Questions from couples booking a Wasing film.

Have you actually filmed a wedding at Wasing Park?

We will be straight with you. We covered a real wedding at Wasing, Jack and Emelia, but we shot that day on photographs rather than film, so we do not have a Wasing wedding film to show you yet. What we can show you is how we film, in full wedding films from other venues a little further south, both cut with the recorded sound of the day as it happened. We would rather tell you that than pass off someone else’s footage as ours.

Do you record the vows and the speeches, or play music over silent footage?

We record the sound as it happens. Two small microphones, one on the groom and one on the officiant, catch the vows and the readings inside the church, and a separate recorder near the top table takes the speeches in the barn, so the finished film carries the words that were said rather than a track over silent pictures. On an estate like Wasing, where the ceremony is in a church over 500 years old and the speeches are in the Castle Barn, planning the sound in each space matters, and it is the first thing we work out.

The ceremony is in the church and the reception is in the barn. Can a film move between them cleanly?

Yes, and it is one of the reasons Wasing suits a film. The 15th-century church and the Castle Barn sit close together on the same grounds, so the film moves with you from the ceremony to the reception rather than cutting across a car park and a drive. We hold the walk between the two, the light changing as you come out of the church, and the room waiting in the barn, so the film runs as one day rather than two disconnected halves.

You are based in West Sussex. Is Wasing too far, and can we book film on its own?

It is a drive, and we plan the film day to start earlier at our end so the distance never eats into your morning. Arriving with time in hand to read the light matters more for film than for stills, so getting there is our job to solve, not something for you to think about. Film can be booked on its own if you already have a photographer, though most couples take film and photographs together as one in-house team on one plan, which keeps a single point of contact for the whole day.
