Wedding films in Havant.
One in-house team covers both the photos and the film. Hayden films your Havant day while Aaron shoots stills alongside, so the sound off the harbour, the vows and the speeches come home with you, not just the pictures.
What a film gives you that photos do not.
A photograph of the harbour behind you is a lovely thing to have on the wall. It cannot give you back the sound. It will not have the sound of the vows, the laughter in the room during the best man’s speech, or the noise of the water and the gulls behind the whole thing. A film records all of that, and by the coast the sound is half the day. That is the main reason to book a film.
We are Robinson Martin Green, based at Mudberry Lane in Chichester, and Havant is about 8 miles up the coast, over the top of Langstone Harbour and into Hampshire, one of the very closest towns we cover. The films are led by Hayden Martin-Green, who shoots and cuts them, with Aaron Robinson on stills working the same day beside him. We should be straight with you from the start. We cover Havant but we have not filmed a wedding in the town itself yet, so we will not invent a Havant couple to fill this page. What we do have are full wedding films from days a short drive away, made by the two people who would come and film yours.
Havant films well, and it films differently to an inland venue. Open water throws light back up at you, so a harbourside ceremony at Langstone carries a brightness on faces you do not get in a walled garden, and in the last hour before the sun drops over the harbour the whole scene turns gold on the water. The catch by the coast is always the sound. Wind off the Solent, gulls and a boat engine will bury unrecorded vows in seconds, which is exactly why we mic the ceremony properly rather than trusting a song laid over silent footage. We plan the day around both the picture and the sound, because a wedding film that looks lovely and loses the words halfway through the vows has missed the point.
You cannot film it again later.
Most couples plan the photographs first and leave the film as the thing they might add later. Then the day passes in a blur, the speeches happen once, the first dance happens once, and there is no way to go back and record any of it again. Stills freeze how it looked. Only a film gives you the movement and the sound, your dad’s voice going as he speaks, the room falling quiet before the rings, the water and the noise of the whole thing behind it. It is the one part of the day you cannot make again afterwards, so it is worth deciding on before the day rather than after.
From getting ready to the first dance.
A Havant wedding film has several looks in it, and a day that runs along the harbour gives you all of them. In the morning we film the getting ready, the details and the last few minutes before the ceremony. The middle of the day is the vows, and by the water this is the part we protect hardest on sound, because the light is generous but the wind is not. Then comes the evening, when a coastal day looks its best on camera. As the sun drops over Langstone Harbour the light goes low and warm across the water, and a couple stepping out for a few minutes at that point gives you the evening shots for the film.
The reception films differently again. First dances, speeches and the noise of a full room need the sound as much as the picture, so we keep recording the room while we film it, and the finished piece carries the laugh through the best man’s speech and the first bars of your first dance as they actually sounded, not a track dropped over the top.

How your Havant day gets filmed.
Because Hayden films while Aaron photographs, there is one team, one plan and one point of contact rather than two suppliers meeting for the first time at your ceremony. That matters more on film than it does on stills. A videographer who has never met your photographer ends up in half their shots and competing for the aisle during the vows, and you are the one caught in the middle asking two strangers to sort it out. We have already agreed who stands where before you walk in, so the camera can hold on you without a second shooter drifting into frame.
Hayden films the ceremony on 2 cameras, one held on the couple and one wider on the room, so a missed reaction on one angle is caught on the other and the vows are never lost to a blocked shot. For an unfamiliar venue like Stansted Park or the terrace at Langstone Quays we walk it first, so the first time we film there is not on your actual day. We work out where the sound is clean, where the wind comes off the water, where the light will be at your ceremony hour, and where a drone can fly if the airspace allows it. Nothing gets staged twice for the two cameras. You are filmed and photographed at the same time, then handed back to your guests.
How the Havant venues look and sound on film.
Real venues in and around the town, each seen the way a filmmaker reads a room: where the movement is, where the light lands, and where a voice carries. We walk any of them ahead of your day so the first time we film there is not on the day itself.
Havant and the harbour villages, on film
- Stansted Park at Rowlands Castle, PO9 6DX, an Edwardian country house with its own St Paul’s Chapel and long parkland approach. The walk down through the grounds is a moving shot with real scale to it, and the chapel holds a voice close so the vows record clean before the day opens out onto the estate for the wider aerial and tracking work.
- Langstone Quays Resort on Northney Road, PO11 0NQ, right on the water with the Hayling Island causeway alongside. The terrace and the big windows over the harbour are made for film, and the changing light off the water is the thing to build the timeline around. It is also the venue where we mic the ceremony hardest, because open water and wind are the sound’s only real enemy here.
- St Thomas a Becket Church at Warblington, a parish church with Saxon origins close to the sea, with a ruined castle wall and an open churchyard nearby. Old stone walls sit sound beautifully for a ceremony recording, and the age of the place gives the film a quieter opening than a modern room.
- Emsworth on the harbour’s edge, a working quay town a couple of miles from Havant. The tide, the moored boats and the mill pond give you movement in the background of a portrait sequence that a fixed inland backdrop simply cannot, so the couple shots there never feel still.
When your film arrives.
The edit is where a wedding film is actually made, and it is worth knowing what happens after the day. We work through the footage and the recorded sound, choose the moments, and cut the film for your Havant day, usually within 8 to 10 weeks. It lands in your private Wedding Hub, the same place your photographs are delivered, so the film and the gallery sit together in one spot. If you chose Silver or Gold, the short teaser lands first, ready to share while the film is still being finished. Because both your film and your photographs come from us, there is one delivery, one login, and one team to talk to if you want a change.

Questions from Havant couples booking a film.
The wind and the gulls come off Langstone Harbour. Will the vows still be clear on the film?
This is the reason we mic properly rather than laying a song over pretty water shots. A discreet radio mic on the groom and one on the officiant sit close to the mouths that matter, and a separate recorder by the readings catches those too, so the vows land clean even with a breeze off the harbour and a boat going past. Open water is the one place couples worry the sound will wash out, and mic placement is exactly how we stop it. The music sits under that recorded audio, never in place of it.
What wedding film do we get for a Havant day, and how long is it?
One edited wedding film, included in every collection, with no separate longer version. How long it runs depends on the day, and Adam and Panha’s film is 5 minutes 57. On Silver and Gold the speeches are recorded in full in the film, so a father-of-the-bride line is not trimmed out, and you get a short teaser to share early. The teaser comes first, then the film lands in your private Wedding Hub, usually within 8 to 10 weeks of the day.
Can we have drone footage over the harbour, or a short reel for social?
Where the venue and the airspace allow it, yes to both. The water at Langstone and the causeway across to Hayling Island are made for an aerial shot, and we clear permissions ahead of the day rather than on it. Coastal spots can carry flight restrictions, so if flying is not possible we tell you beforehand and cover it from the ground instead. We can also cut a short vertical teaser, around 60 seconds, sized for Instagram and TikTok, so you have something to share in the days after while the full film is still in the edit.
Can we book the film on its own, or does it have to come with photography?
Film can be booked on its own if you already have a photographer, and it works because we plan around whoever else is covering the day. Most couples book both with us so one in-house team runs the whole thing on one plan, which is the setup we would recommend for a fast-changing coastal day, but the film does not depend on it.
