Wedding films in Farnham.
Photography and film come from one in-house team. Hayden films your Farnham day while Aaron shoots stills beside him, so the sound, the vows and the speeches travel home with you, not just the photographs.
A film records the sound too.
A photograph of Farnham Castle above the town is a fine thing to hang on the wall. It cannot give you back the sound. It will not hold the catch in a voice at the top of the vows, the laugh that went round the room during the best man, or the first few bars of the song you walked back down the aisle to. A film records all of that, and the sound is the main reason to book one.
We are Robinson Martin Green, based at Mudberry Lane in Chichester. We should be straight with you from the start about the distance. Farnham sits about thirty miles north of us in Surrey, further than most of the ground we cover week to week, so the day means an early start and a proper drive up rather than a local hop. The films are led by Hayden Martin-Green, who shoots and cuts them, with Aaron Robinson on stills working the same day at his side. We cover Farnham, but we have not filmed a wedding in the town itself yet, so we will not invent a Farnham couple to fill this page. What we do have are full wedding films from days a manageable drive away, filmed by the two people who would come and film yours.
Farnham films well, and it films differently from a venue down on the flat. The castle stands up on Castle Hill with the Great Lawn open to the sky, which gives an aerial camera a clean sweep out over the town and the Surrey Hills that you cannot get from ground level, and in the last hour of the afternoon the light comes low and warm across that lawn fast enough that a filmmaker watching for it can catch the whole aspect turning gold. Sound is the other consideration up there. An open terrace carries wind, so where the ceremony or the speeches sit outside we mic close and plan for it, so the words land clean on the recording rather than washing away on the breeze.
Why we would say book the film.
Most couples settle the photographer first and leave the film as a maybe for later. Then the day runs past in a blur, the speeches happen once, the first dance happens once, and there is no way back to record any of it again. Photographs freeze how the day looked. Only a film gives you the movement and the sound with it, from the speeches and the rings to the noise of a full room. It is the single part of a wedding you cannot recreate afterwards, which is why we suggest booking the film early.
The parts of the day we film.
A Farnham wedding film carries more than one mood, and a day that starts up at the castle gives you the range of them. In the morning we film the getting ready, the details and the last few minutes before it all begins. The middle of the day is the ceremony and the Great Lawn, the part most couples picture when they imagine the film. Then the light drops, and a setting above the town looks its best on camera. As the sun falls behind the Surrey Hills the last of it runs low across the lawn, and a couple stepping out for a few minutes at that point gives you the closing shots of the film.
The reception films differently again. First dances, speeches and the roar of a full room want the sound as much as the picture, so we keep recording the room while we film it, and the finished piece carries the laugh that ran through the speeches and the opening bars of your first dance the way they truly sounded on the night, not a track dropped over the top.
Weddings we have covered close by.
Rather than talk at you, here are real weddings we have covered a short drive from Farnham. Adam and Panha at Fitzleroi Barn, Pulborough, and Jack and Emelia at Wasing Park. Click a couple to read about their day.
How your Farnham day gets filmed.
Because Hayden films while Aaron photographs, you get one team, one plan and one point of contact rather than two suppliers who meet for the first time at your ceremony. That matters more on film than it does on stills. A videographer who has never worked with your photographer ends up in half their shots and jostling for the aisle through the vows, and you are the one caught in the middle asking two strangers to sort themselves out. We have already settled who stands where before you walk in, so the camera can hold on you without a second shooter drifting into the frame.
Hayden films the ceremony on two cameras, one held on the couple and one wider on the room, so a reaction missed on one angle is caught on the other and the vows are never lost to a blocked view. For an unfamiliar setting like Farnham Castle we walk it first, so the first time we film there is not on your actual day. We work out where the sound stays clean, where the light will be at your ceremony hour, and where the drone can fly if the venue clears it. Nothing gets staged twice for the cameras. You are filmed and photographed at the same time, then handed straight back to your guests.
Editing and delivery.
The edit is where a wedding film is actually made, and it is worth knowing what happens once the day is done. We work through the footage and the recorded sound, choose the moments, and cut your wedding film, normally within eight to ten weeks. It arrives in your private Wedding Hub, the same place your photographs are delivered, so the film and the gallery sit together in one spot instead of the film turning up on a memory stick that ends up in a drawer. With Silver or Gold, the short teaser gets there first, so you can share a little of the day while the film is still being cut. Because your film and your photographs both come from us, there is one delivery, one login, and one team to speak to if you want a change.

Questions from couples booking a film.
Do you record the vows and the speeches, or lay a song over silent footage?
We record the sound from the day itself. A small microphone on the groom and another on the registrar catch the vows and the readings, and a separate recorder near the top table holds the speeches, so the words you hear in the finished film are the ones spoken in the room. The music sits under that recorded audio rather than replacing it, which is the difference between a film of your wedding and a montage set to a track.
Farnham Castle sits up on the hill. Can you fly a drone over the Great Lawn?
Where the site and the conditions allow it, yes. The Great Lawn and the open ground above the town are made for an aerial shot, and we clear the airspace and the permissions ahead of the day rather than turning up hoping. If a restriction or the weather rules it out we tell you beforehand and cover the same sweep from the ground. Farnham Castle is a listed setting, so we check what is allowed with the venue first and plan the flight around your ceremony time.
Do we get one wedding film or several?
One. Every collection includes an edited wedding film, and there is no separate longer edit to add. Its running time follows the day, so Adam and Panha above sits just under six minutes. On Silver and Gold the speeches are recorded in full in the film, and you get a short teaser to share early, which comes before the film itself. Everything lands in your private Wedding Hub, with the film normally there within eight to ten weeks of the day.
Can we have a short version for Instagram before the main film is ready?
Yes. We can cut a vertical teaser of around sixty seconds, framed for Instagram and TikTok, and turn it round in the days after the wedding while the full film is still being edited. It gives you and your guests something to share straight away, and it is built from the real footage rather than a separate shoot.
Can we book the film on its own if we already have a photographer?
You can. Film works perfectly well as a standalone booking, and we simply plan the day around whoever is covering the stills so we stay out of each other’s frames. Most couples book both crafts with us so one in-house team runs the whole day on one plan, which is the setup we would recommend for a Farnham day and the drive it involves, but the film does not depend on it.
