Fitzleroi Barn & West Sussex

Wedding photography and film at Fitzleroi Barn.

A wedding photographer at Fitzleroi Barn who also shoots the film, working as one in-house team rather than two. Aaron and Hayden cover the barn and the country around Pulborough, never two strangers competing for the same shot.

Mid-afternoon, the light comes through the open end of the Main Barn and lands across the timber beams, and for a minute or two the room turns gold while the guests are still finding their seats. A photographer who has stood in that barn knows it is coming and is ready for it. We are Robinson Martin Green, a two-person studio based in West Sussex, and we cover weddings at Fitzleroi Barn near Pulborough as one team that shoots both the photographs and the film.

The team is Aaron Robinson on stills and Hayden Martin-Green on film. We work as one unit on the day rather than two suppliers who met for the first time that morning. That matters more than it sounds. Fitzleroi runs the ceremony, the drinks in the courtyard and the wedding breakfast across spaces that sit close together, so the day moves quickly from one to the next. A photographer and a filmmaker who have not worked together end up in each other’s frames and competing for the same spot during the speeches. We have already agreed who stands where, so neither of us blocks the other and you are not the person trying to keep two strangers apart.

We should be straight about this. Robinson Martin Green is a new studio with a small number of real weddings behind it, not a long list of Fitzleroi jobs going back ten years. We would rather show you one we shot here and stand behind every frame of it than pad a page with claims we cannot.

Adam & Panha, a full day at Fitzleroi.

We photographed and filmed Adam and Panha here, a full-day Gold wedding from the morning preparations through to the evening. The same two of us, in the room you are looking at.

Full day at Fitzleroi Barn · Pulborough

This is the venue page where we can show you our own work in the room you are looking at, rather than borrowing somebody else’s pictures of it. It was the full Gold package, which means the same two of us for the whole day and both the photographs and the film as one piece of work. In the weeks before, we sent Adam and Panha a written list of the photographs and the film moments we planned to cover, so nothing important rested on memory and nothing felt rushed once everyone arrived.

We knew where the ceremony would sit, where the light would be in the late afternoon, and where to take them for portraits while the courtyard filled up behind them. The film is on our YouTube and the full gallery is on the site, so you can watch a complete Fitzleroi day before you ever speak to us.

How we cover a Fitzleroi day

One team for photo and film.

Most couples start out planning to hire a photographer and a separate videographer. The hidden cost of that is coordination, and it lands on you. Two suppliers means two timelines to chase, two sets of questions about when the speeches start, and two people who each want the couple to themselves for portraits. Booking the photographs and the film as one studio removes all of that. There is one timeline, one shot list, one point of contact, and one shared plan for how Aaron and Hayden move through your day.

In practice that means we run stills and film side by side without staging anything twice. We talk through the order of the day with you in advance, walk the venue beforehand where we can, and agree the moments that matter to you specifically rather than working off a template. Fitzleroi gives you a real choice of where to marry, indoors under the beams of the Main Barn, out in the rose-lined courtyard with its walls closed around you, or in the meadow with the South Downs behind. The Main Barn seats up to 130 and the smaller Long Room around 70, so we plan our positions around whichever you choose rather than turning up and hoping.

Because Fitzleroi is a two-day, exclusive-use venue in the South Downs National Park, you have the place to yourselves from the day before. That changes how the morning runs. There is no other wedding being turned around behind you and no rush to clear the room, so the getting-ready hours are calmer and we can take our time over the detail shots and the quiet moments before the ceremony. It is a family-run barn outside Pulborough, set above the Arun valley, and the drive in past the open fields is part of what couples remember about the place.

A few of the Fitzleroi settings we are set up for

    • The Main Barn, a beamed space that seats up to 130 and turns gold in the late-afternoon light coming through the open end.
    • The Courtyard, enclosed by the barn and lined with roses, where the drinks reception is held and a marquee can be pitched if the weather turns.
    • The Meadow, open to the South Downs, for couples who want to say their vows outside with the countryside behind them.
    • The Long Room, a quieter space for around 70 guests, for a smaller ceremony with a more private feel.

    Good to know

    Common questions from Fitzleroi couples.

Do you already know Fitzleroi Barn, or do you turn up cold?

We shot a full day here with Adam and Panha, so we know the run between the Main Barn, the courtyard and the meadow, where the afternoon light falls and where the portraits work while the drinks are being served. For any venue we have not worked at before, we visit ahead of the day so we already know the ceremony space and the light before we arrive with you.

We are marrying in the meadow and moving into the barn. Can you cover the whole flow?

Yes, and that is how a lot of Fitzleroi days run, because the spaces sit close together and the celebration moves from one to the next. We stay with you across all of it, so the ceremony, the courtyard drinks and the evening come back as one set rather than three disconnected halves.

If we only want the film and not the photographs, can you still do that?

Yes. Most couples take both because it is the same team and one booking, but you can have film only or photographs only. We will tell you honestly which makes sense for the kind of day you are planning rather than pushing the larger option.

How far in advance should we book a Fitzleroi summer Saturday?

Because the venue is exclusive-use and only takes one wedding at a time, popular dates from late spring through to early autumn tend to go 12 to 18 months out. Shorter notice does come up, so it is worth asking even if your date is only a few months away.
