Fareham, Titchfield & the Solent

Wedding photography and film in Fareham.

Aaron takes the photographs and Hayden shoots the film, as one team. We cover Fareham, Titchfield and the coastal venues around it, never two strangers competing for the same shot.

Fareham is the calmer stretch of the Hampshire coast, sitting between Portsmouth and Southampton without the crowds or the working docks of either. For a photographer that is a quiet gift. The Meon estuary and the Solent creeks give you water and open sky, but sheltered, so the light is softer than an open seafront, and the old village of Titchfield adds ancient stone a few minutes inland. We are Robinson Martin Green, a two-person studio based at Mudberry Lane near Chichester, and we cover Fareham weddings across this stretch of coast as one team that shoots both the photographs and the film.

The team is Aaron Robinson on stills and Hayden Martin-Green on film. We work as one unit on the day rather than two suppliers who met for the first time that morning. In a hotel courtyard or an old barn, a photographer and a filmmaker who have not worked together end up in each other’s frames and fighting for the same angle during the vows. We have already agreed who stands where, so neither of us blocks the other and you are not the one trying to keep two strangers apart.

We should be straight about this. Fareham is about twenty-two miles from our base, half an hour along the A27 and well inside the area we cover, but we have not yet documented a wedding in the town itself. We would rather tell you that plainly than dress up a page with a Fareham couple who does not exist. What we can show you is real work an easy drive away, and the same two people will be the ones who turn up for you.

How we would cover a Fareham day

One team for photo and film.

Most couples start out planning to hire a photographer and a separate videographer. The hidden cost of that is coordination, and it lands on you. Two suppliers means two timelines to chase, two sets of questions about when the speeches start, and two people who each want the couple to themselves for portraits. Booking the photographs and the film as one studio removes all of that. There is one timeline, one shot list, one point of contact, and one shared plan for how Aaron and Hayden move through your day.

For a Fareham day that usually means a short run over from Chichester in the morning, an unfamiliar venue handled by a proper walk-round beforehand, and two of us reading the same light so nothing important rests on one person. The coastal light here is kinder than an open seafront, but we still plan where the good light will sit at your ceremony hour and hold a little back for portraits by the creek when the sun drops. We run stills and film side by side without staging anything twice, agree the moments that matter to you specifically, and stay with you from the getting-ready through to the evening so the whole day comes back as one set.

    Fareham, Titchfield and the Solent

    • voco Fareham-Solent at Titchfield, a hotel licensed for civil ceremonies with a private courtyard and gardens that give clean, contemporary backdrops for the ceremony and the group photographs.
    • The Solent Hotel and Spa at Whiteley, a larger hotel a short drive north of the town, with grounds that give room for portraits away from the road.
    • The Great Barn at Titchfield, a historic barn in the old village where big timber and old brick give a photograph real texture and warmth for an indoor ceremony.
    • Lysses House, the Georgian townhouse hotel in the centre of Fareham, an elegant and intimate setting that photographs warm and close for a smaller day.
    • The historic village of Titchfield with its abbey ruins, and the Meon estuary down to the Solent creeks, for couples who want the calmer coast and the old stone in the frame.
    The ground around Fareham

A few of the Fareham settings we are set up for.

Real venues in and around the town, each with something specific to plan around. We visit any of them ahead of your day so the first time we shoot there is not on the day itself.

Real work, not a stock gallery

The nearest day we can actually show you.

We would rather point you at a real wedding than pad this page with a testimonial from a Fareham couple we have never met. The closest documented day is Becky and Lucas, which ran from Horsham through to The Highdown, the same two people you would be booking. It is not Fareham, and we are not going to dress it up as if it were, but it is an honest look at how we work across a full day rather than a set of staged sample shots.

    FAQs

    Common questions from Fareham couples.

Have you photographed at the Great Barn at Titchfield or voco Fareham-Solent before?

Not yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. Our documented weddings are a short drive away rather than in Fareham itself. For any venue we have not worked at, we go and visit ahead of the day so we already know the ceremony space, where the light falls and the best spots for portraits before we turn up with you. A hotel courtyard, an old barn or a creekside garden is a known quantity to plan around even on a first booking.

How do you handle the coastal light around the creeks and the Solent?

Coastal light is softer here than on an open seafront, because the creeks and the Meon are more sheltered, but it still moves and it still bounces bright off the water. We place portraits with the light rather than into it, use the shade of the old walls at Titchfield when the sun is high, and hold a little time back for the last hour when the light over the water turns gold. Two of us means one can be reading the light while the other stays on you.

You are based near Chichester. Does travel to Fareham cost extra?

Fareham is about twenty-two miles from Mudberry Lane, half an hour along the A27 and well inside the area we cover, so there is no separate travel charge for it. We would tell you upfront if a venue ever fell outside that, rather than adding it quietly later.
