Wedding photography and film in Brighton.
One team covers both the photographs and the film. We travel to Brighton for couples who want one studio on both, never two strangers competing for the same shot.
Brighton is its own kind of wedding day. The seafront on one side, the Lanes and the Palace Pier a few streets over, and the South Downs sitting behind the whole city. It draws couples who want somewhere with character instead of a country house down a long drive, and it is a busy, competitive place for wedding photographers. We are not going to tell you we are the local Brighton studio, because we are not. We are Robinson Martin Green, a two-person studio based at Mudberry Lane in Chichester, and we travel across to Brighton for couples who want one team shooting both the photographs and the film.
The team is Aaron Robinson on stills and Hayden Martin-Green on film. We work as one unit on the day, not two suppliers who met for the first time that morning. That matters more in a city day than people expect. A Brighton wedding moves through tight spaces, a ceremony room, a pier walkway, a hotel staircase with guests packed in, and a photographer and a filmmaker who have not worked together end up in each other’s frames and fighting for the same angle during the vows. We have already agreed who stands where, so neither of us blocks the other and you are not the one trying to keep two strangers apart.
We should be straight about this. Brighton is roughly 35 miles from our base in Chichester, close to an hour on the A27, which is a real drive rather than a hop up the road, and we have not yet documented a wedding in the city itself. We can cover it and we would happily travel to it, but we are not going to dress up a page with a Brighton couple who does not exist or claim years of local knowledge we have not earned here. What we can show you is the real weddings we have covered along this same coast and countryside, and the same two people will be the ones who turn up for you.

One team for photo and film.
Most couples start out planning to hire a photographer and a separate videographer. The hidden cost of that is coordination, and it lands on you. Two suppliers means two timelines to chase, two sets of questions about when the speeches start, and two people who each want the couple to themselves for portraits. Booking the photographs and the film as one studio removes all of that. There is one timeline, one shot list, one point of contact, and one shared plan for how Aaron and Hayden move through your day.
For a Brighton day that means an early start from Chichester, a proper walk-round of an unfamiliar venue beforehand so the first time we shoot there is not on the day, and two of us reading the same room so nothing important rests on one person. We run stills and film side by side without staging anything twice. We talk through the order of the day with you in advance and agree the moments that matter to you specifically rather than working off a template. If your ceremony is at the Royal Pavilion and the party moves down to the seafront afterwards, we stay with you across both so the morning and the evening come back as one set.
The other thing a city wedding tends to involve is movement. A Brighton day rarely stays in one building. You might get ready in a Kemptown townhouse, marry in the Pavilion, walk portraits through the Lanes, and end up at a seafront bar, which can be 4 or 5 locations in a single afternoon. With two suppliers who do not know each other, every one of those moves is a small negotiation about who goes in which car and who sets up first. With one team it is already sorted between us, so you get to spend the gaps between locations with your guests instead of herding your photographer and your videographer across the city.
Brighton venues we would plan around.
Real venues across the city, each with something specific to plan around. We visit any of them ahead of your day so the first time we shoot there is not on the day itself.
Brighton and the seafront
- The Grand Brighton on the seafront, opened in 1864 and known ever since as the original Palace by the Sea, giving you Victorian rooms and a sea view with the hard afternoon light off the water to plan around.
- The Royal Pavilion, licensed for civil ceremonies in rooms such as the Music Room and the Banqueting Room, frequently held later in the day, which changes when your portraits happen and where the light falls.
- Preston Manor, three miles north of the seafront, licensed in both its Entrance Hall and around the Lily Pond in the walled garden, each for up to 40 guests, for a smaller and quieter day.
- The Palace Pier and the Lanes a few streets back, giving you portraits with the city and the sea that no country estate can, with the crowds to work around as part of the plan.

A wedding we covered a drive from Brighton.
None of the weddings we can show you so far is in Brighton, so we are not going to show you a day that did not happen or borrow someone else’s review and pin it to this city. What we can point you to is Becky and Lucas, whose day ran from Horsham through to The Highdown near the coast. Becky told us afterwards, “I could not believe how relaxed the whole day felt with you both there,” which is the one thing we care most about getting right. It is an honest example of how we work rather than a Brighton wedding dressed up as one, and it is a short look at what the same two people would bring across to your day here. Adam and Panha at Fitzleroi Barn and Jack and Emelia across Wasing Park are the other two, both a straight drive along the same coast and countryside we would take to reach you.
Common questions from Brighton couples.
Have you shot in Brighton before?
Not yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. We have real weddings to show along this coast and countryside rather than one in Brighton itself, and you would be one of our first bookings in the city. For any venue we have not worked at, we visit ahead of the day so we already know the ceremony space, the light and the spots for portraits before we arrive with you. A first booking in a new place is something we plan for properly with at least one scouting visit rather than wing on the day.
You are based in Chichester. Is 35 miles a problem for a Brighton wedding?
It is a genuine drive of close to an hour rather than a local hop, and we are straight about that, but it is well inside the distance we travel for couples who want our one-team approach. Chichester to Brighton is a road we know, we build the drive into the plan and arrive with a couple of hours to spare, and there are no surprise travel charges bolted on afterwards. We would tell you the full cost upfront, in plain figures, before you commit to anything.
Why choose a studio that travels in over a Brighton local?
Only for one reason, and it is the reason our couples pick us. You get one in-house team on both the photography and the film, two people who plan the day together and shoot it together, rather than a photographer and a videographer who have never met. If that one-team approach is what you want, the drive is worth it. If it is not, a local studio may suit you better, and we would rather say so than talk you into the wrong fit.
